Raised in East Berlin, she attempted to establish herself in the music scene during the GDR era but encountered difficulties due to her critical lyrics. Following German reunification, she co-founded the duo Rosenstolz in 1991, where she served as the lead vocalist. She also contributed to various other cultural projects and collaborated as a guest singer with the German band Silly in 2005. AnNa R. continued her music career with bands like Gleis 8 and Silly and successfully pursued a solo career.
